The Oyo State Chairman of the Institute, Honourable Emmanuel Alawus, who led officers of the Institute on a courtesy call on the Acting Rector on Thursday, 27th Jun, described the appointment of Dr. Lasisi as a round peg in a round hole. Honourablee Alawus, who described Dr. Lasisi as a distinguished scholar, noted that the governor's decision to appoint Dr. Lasisi was highly commendabl, adding that his Institute had no doubt that Dr. Lasisi would change the fortune of The Polytechnic, Ibadan positively.

The Chairman of the Institute who was a pioneer Student of the department of Purchasing and Supply in 1980/81 academic session urged the Management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan to make use of professionals in the Purchasing and Supply Chain in the activities of the institution. He observed that professionals in the Purchasing and Supply Chain should head the Store unit of the Institution and also be in charge of purchases and supply.
