Hameed, Ayobami Bakare was born on 7th July, 1957 at Ogbomoso. He carried the following qualifications; B.L.S. Zaria (1986), M.L.S. (Ibadan 1991, E.D.P. Computer Certificate (LAUTECH) (1995). He started his professional career in Librarianship as a National Youth Service Corps member in (1987), with KANO State Library Board. At the end of the service year, he was employed as a Librarian II in 1987 and remained in the services of the Board until 1989, when he resigned his appointment for further studies at University of Ibadan. On completion of hisMaster's Degree in Library and Information Studies, he joined the services of The Polytechnic,
Ibadan as Librarian I, on 11th July, 1991 and was deployed to Eruwa campus as head of Library.
He was there until December 1995, when he was transferred back to Ibadan. He was redeployed to Eruwa campus in 2005. He was transferred back to Ibadan. Until 4th February,
2010 when he was re-deployed to Eruwa campus for the third time and he remained there as Deputy Chief Librarian and Campus Librarian until 14th February, 2014 when he was appointed as Chief Librarian along with the four management team of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
He is a Chartered Librarian. He was the immediate past Vice-Chairman Oyo State chapter, Nigerian Library Association. He is also the Current secretary academic and research Library, (A.R.L.S.) of the Nigerian Library Association (National Office). He is currently a Doctoral student in the Department of Library, Archival and Information Study, University of Ibadan.
He enjoys surfing the net for current research.
He is a pragmatic Muslim. He is also the Vice Chairman Muslim Community, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
He is married with four dutiful children.
