CENTRE FOR PRELIMINARY AND ALLIED PROGRAMMES
Establishment
The Centre for Preliminary and Allied Programmes (CPAP) came into existence in the year 2002 to administer the operations of the Pre-ND programmes hitherto run by the different faculties in the Institution. However, due to the restrictions placed by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) limiting operations to identified programmers, other remedial programmes such as Cambridge ‘A’ Levels, IJMB, SAT, TOEFL and some professional courses were brought in to the Centre. The inclusion of other programmes necessitated a change of name to Centre for Preliminary and Basic Studies (CPBS). The Centre played a key role in assisting admission seekers to meet up with admission requirements. The center came up with the idea of floating a Daily Part Time programme for National Diploma and Higher National Diploma which commenced in 2014/2015 Session. In 2017 the Centre got affiliated with two Universities; Federal University Oye-Ekiti and Ajayi Crowther University for HND Top-Up Programme.
Objective
The Centre is meant to provide admission for qualified candidates who cannot be admitted into regular programmes.
